Audition Dates
Initial auditions will take place in person via time slots (register above) on Aug 21 at SALT's Chester Springs location (1645 Art School Rd, 19425). Callbacks will take place if necessary and by invitation on Aug 30.
If you absolutely cannot make an in-person time slot on either evening (which is much preferred), video submissions will be accepted, emailed to LMcComas@saltpa.com by Aug 20. Please put "BATB Audition" in the subject of the email.
Callbacks

Performance Dates
Performances will take place on the weekends of Nov 15-Dec 15, 2024 at SALT's Chester Springs location (1645 Art School Rd, 19425).
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will primarily take place on Sundays, Tuesday evenings, and Thursday evenings (with a few exceptions). Tech & Performances take place in Chester Springs. Please review the rehearsal and production schedule here to put any known conflicts on your audition form and take note of locations. Please note that any known conflicts with Tech Week or performances will not be accepted.
Audition Format
For the initial audition, be prepared to sing up to 32 measures of any TWO songs in the style of the show with our live accompanist during your scheduled time slot. One of the selections can be from the show, but it does not have to be. Please also be prepared to tell us a short story (under one minute) of a time you felt like you did not fit in.
The vision for this production, while containing all the magic you expect from this show, will not be a traditional staging. Therefore, we strongly encourage auditioners to think outside the box when choosing their selections, as there are a multitude of excellent options that are not from Disney musicals.
Your music should have cuts clearly marked and in a binder for our accompanist.
Compensation
This is a community theatre production performed on a volunteer basis.
Roles
All roles listed below are open, and we encourage all performers to submit for any role regardless of gender, ability, race, ethnicity, sexuality, neurodiversity, and similarity to the source material or original cast.
Belle - A young woman with an independent spirit and a love of reading. She is kind, clever, bold, and courageous.
Stage Age: 18 to 30
Vocal range: F5-E3
Beast - The cursed Prince and master of the castle. Beast is imposing and stubborn at first, but ultimately learns that he is capable of giving and receiving love.
Stage Age: 25-40
Vocal range: F4-A2
Maurice - Belle’s slightly addled, genius inventor father.
Stage Age: 50 to 70
Vocal range: Db4-Bb2
Gaston - A rude, narcissistic hunter who assumes the world belongs to him.
Stage Age: 25 to 40
Vocal range: E4-A2
Lefou - Gaston’s fawning friend, not too bright.
Stage Age: 18 to 35
Vocal range: F#4-B2
Les Filles De La Ville (3) - A group of Gaston’s fanatical female followers who energetically pursue him in the hopes of winning his affections.
Lumiere - A charming French valet who fancies himself a ladies man; becomes a candelabra. Lumiere is a showman and entertainer.

Cogsworth - An officious, excitable, English butler; becomes a mantle clock. He is tightly wound and nervous.

Mrs. Potts - A sweet, kind-hearted head of the kitchen staff and mother to Chip; becomes a teapot.

Chip - Mrs. Potts’s hopeful young son; becomes a teacup.

Madame De La Grande Bouche - A grand, larger-than-life opera singer; becomes a wardrobe
